SEN teaching assistant
In Year 5, Mr. Pascoe is the class teacher, supported by Ms Scaife, Mrs Ham and Miss Pedley. Children in Year 5 are expected to become more independent as the year progresses to prepare them for Year 6 and SATs. We expect all children to try their best and have a growth mindset.
In Year 5, outdoor learning takes place on Tuesday afternoons and PE is on Thursday afternoons. Please ensure full PE kits are in school every week. Homework is issued on Fridays and is due in on Wednesdays. Homework club is available every Monday and Tuesday lunchtime should your child need assistance with completing this.
Reading should be enjoyed daily – every child is expected to read their target number of pages, either independently or to an adult. They should then write how much they have read in their home-school-link book, which should be initialled daily by an adult at home. Pupils are also expected to learn their spellings and times tables each week.
As always, if you have any questions, please make an appointment to see Mr. Pascoe, or make contact via the home-school link book or telephone.
